Take bookings through the chat widget
Connect Google Calendar, define your services, and let visitors book real appointments in chat.
What you get
Visitors can ask for an appointment, pick a time that is genuinely free, and confirm it in chat. The booking lands in your Google Calendar, and the visitor receives a confirmation email in your business name plus a calendar invite.
Before you start
You need:
- Google Calendar connected on the Integrations page
- The calendar you want new bookings to appear on
Set up
- Open Calendar settings.
- Choose the calendar you want to use for bookings.
- Set your working days, hours, and timezone.
- Add each bookable service and choose a duration from 5 minutes to 8 hours.
- Add an optional buffer if you want time between appointments.
- Keep Instant confirmation on. Chat booking requires it.
- Switch on Let customers book through the chat widget.
- Save your settings.
What visitors experience
A visitor asks to book and sees your service menu. They choose a service, pick a free time shown in their timezone, give their name and email, and confirm. The confirmation email and calendar invite arrive straight away.
Good to know
- It can take up to 10 minutes for booking to appear in the widget after you switch it on.
- Throwaway email addresses are refused.
- Per-visitor and per-day booking limits protect your calendar.
- Each customer can hold up to 2 upcoming bookings.
- Bookings use instant confirmation today. Keep services that need your approval as normal enquiries.
- Google Calendar is supported for now. Microsoft 365 support is planned.
Troubleshooting
Booking is not offered in chat
Check that the booking toggle is on, at least one service is defined, instant confirmation is on, and Google Calendar is connected.
A slot is refused
The slot was genuinely taken before the booking could be confirmed. The widget offers the visitor alternatives.
